Had dinner with attendees of the International Monetary Conference (IMC) last night. The IMC is a forum for the chairmen and CEOs of major financial institutions to meet and exchange ideas.
We discussed what opportunities lay ahead for Singapore. One key advantage we have is our location and accessibility within Asia, one of the most vibrant parts of the world. But with many others in the region coming up quickly, we must stay on our toes to stay ahead.
Singaporeans have a per capita GDP of about S$80,000 - one of the highest in the world. But this doesn’t mean we’ve reached nirvana. We strive to keep on growing and upgrading, so that we can create better jobs and a better future for ourselves. - LHL
